An MPPT solar charge controller manages power from solar panels for battery charging in an off-grid system. The Renogy Rover Li range brings together 20A, 30A and 40A models, letting you select the controller rating that suits your system design.

Choose a controller-only configuration or a bundle that adds a BT2 Bluetooth module for remote monitoring. Selected 30A and 40A bundles also include Renogy ONE Core.

For larger charging setups, the 40A model accepts up to 520W of solar input on a 12V battery system or 1040W on a 24V system. Its protection functions address overcharging, over-discharging, short circuits, overloads, reverse polarity and reverse current.

Features

  • MPPT technology tracks the solar array's maximum power point to support battery charging as sunlight conditions change.
  • Three current ratings let you choose between 20A, 30A and 40A controllers.
  • BT2 Bluetooth bundles add a remote monitoring configuration; the controller-only configuration does not include that module.
  • Renogy ONE Core bundles are offered for the 30A and 40A models.
  • The 40A model supports 12V and 24V systems and includes temperature compensation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which current ratings and monitoring bundles can I choose?

The solar charge controller comes in 20A, 30A and 40A ratings. Each rating has a controller-only configuration and a BT2 Bluetooth bundle; the 30A and 40A ratings also have bundles that include BT2 and Renogy ONE Core.

How much solar panel power can the 40A controller accept?

The 40A solar charge controller accepts up to 520W on a 12V battery system or 1040W on a 24V battery system. These limits apply to the 40A model.

Does the 40A solar charge controller include a built-in battery fuse?

No, the 40A solar charge controller requires a separate fuse between the controller and battery. A 40A ANL fuse is recommended for the 40A model.

What wire size fits the 40A controller terminals?

The 40A controller terminals accept wire up to 8 AWG. Insert the wire inside the terminal socket before tightening; placing it below the socket can leave a loose connection and damage the terminal.
